I pretty much do wear one outfit over and over again, or various iterations of it. I am a creature of habit, being autistic and all, and now I’ve found an outfit that works for me, I’m unlikely to change it, unless my body changes in some dramatic way.
I hate tight clothes. I like to be able to move very freely, without anything obstructing my progress. I never wear skirts, and rarely wear dresses because they flap about and get in the way if, for example, I have to climb over a fence. I don’t often have to climb over fences, but it does happen.
I want to be comfortable, but I don’t want to look like a slob, and I’m not the wealthiest person in the world, so I have slowly come to rely on the linen shirt, loose trousers (usually combats or jeans) and trainers combo. In the winter I swap the shirt for a jumper, preferably grey cashmere (I buy these second hand shops or, if I’ve had a good run of paid work, the Boden sale).
If I need to look extra put together, for a social or work thing, I add a suit jacket and, if I’m really making an effort, I swap the linen shirt for a silk one.
Were I to win the lottery, I’d dress like the cover image, which I took from my Pinterest board Wear which is full of such outfits.
I also wear almost the exact same thing everyday, although I wear slim jeans, not quite skinny – but almost, because I too loathe any sort of flappiness. I have about 6 pairs of the exact same jeans, and they are 6 shades of black/grey. The black ones are saved for best.
When it’s too hot for these I have cut down versions! And also combats.
Why change a winning formula if you’re comfy?!

It’s a horrible garment that shows your knickers when you go up ladders or, as I am want to do, trip over your own feet! X
